Dr. Torres is a Board Certified Surgeon with extensive specialized trainig and teaching Advanced Laparoscoic (Minimal Invasive Srugery) and Bariatric (Obesity or Weight-loss) Surgery and has been in practice for more than 20 years, including in the beginning of weight loss laparoscopic procedures (Lap-Band).
Dr. Torres has pioneered minimaly invasive surgery in San Luis Potosí area. His expertise in minimally invasive, gastrointestinal surgery and weight loss surgery allows him and his team to perfom most of the surgeries for this medical problem. He has successfully completed over 5,000 surgeries as the head surgeon and has changed the lives of his pacients.
Dr. Torres is affiliated with multiple hospitals in San Luis Potosí. He recived his medical degree from San Luis Potosí University School of Medicine, his postdoctoral training includes an intership at Cook County Hospital in Chicago Il, and postdoctoral fellow at the Univesity of Texas HSC in San Antonio TX. He returned to Mexico City to one of the most pretigious Hospital down there (Hospital Español de Mexico) and completed the General Surgery Residency. Since that time he has attended multile meeting and International Congresses included some papers presentation.
